Mechanical Properties of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes:
Duplex 2507 stainless steel combines high tensile strength and excellent impact toughness with a low coefficient of thermal expansion and high thermal conductivity. This balanced set of mechanical and physical properties makes Duplex 2507 well suited for a wide range of structural and mechanical applications, particularly in demanding environments.
The mechanical properties of Duplex 2507 at ambient and elevated temperatures are summarized below. All test data are based on material supplied in the solution-annealed and water-quenched condition.
Duplex 2507 is not recommended for prolonged service at temperatures above 570°F (300°C), as extended exposure may lead to a reduction in toughness and corrosion resistance.
The values presented are typical for wrought products and are provided for reference only. They should not be interpreted as guaranteed maximum or minimum values unless explicitly specified by the applicable standard.

Hot Formingof Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750
Steel Pipes
Duplex 2507 should be hot worked within the
temperature range of 1875°F to 2250°F (1025°C to 1230°C). After hot forming,
the material must undergo solution annealing at a minimum temperature of 1925°F
(1050°C), followed by a rapid air or water quench to restore the optimal duplex
microstructure and corrosion resistance.
Cold
Forming of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes
Most conventional stainless steel cold forming
methods are applicable to Duplex 2507. However, due to its higher yield
strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic stainless steels,
fabricators should expect
Higher
forming forces of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes
Larger bending radii
Increased allowance for elastic springback
Processes such as deep drawing, stretch forming, and
severe deformation are more challenging with Duplex 2507 than with austenitic
grades. When cold deformation exceeds 10%, a solution anneal followed by
quenching is strongly recommended to recover mechanical properties and
corrosion resistance.
Heat
Treatment of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes
Duplex 2507 should be solution annealed and quenched
after both hot and cold forming operations. Solution annealing must be
performed at a temperature of not less than 1925°F (1050°C), followed
immediately by rapid air or water quenching.
To achieve maximum corrosion resistance,
heat-treated products should be pickled and thoroughly rinsed to remove surface
oxides and contaminants formed during processing.
Womic Steel adopts advanced production technology to ensure each Stainless Steel - of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes meets exact specifications and flawless surface quality.
1. Raw Material Selection:High-qualityof Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes Stainless Steel Pipebillets from certified mills (Baosteel, TISCO, POSCO).
2. Heating and Piercing:Billets heated to a controlled temperature and pierced using a rotary piercing mill to form hollow shells.
3. Hot Rolling:Shells elongated and rolled to desired size.
4. Cold Drawing / Cold Pilgering:Pipes refined to precise dimensions and improved surface finish.
5. Solution Annealing:Heat treatment to restore corrosion resistance and ductility.
6. Pickling & Passivation:Removal of oxides and creation of passive film for enhanced corrosion protection.
7. Straightening and Dimensional Calibration:Ensures consistent roundness and wall uniformity.
8. Final Inspection & Marking:Each pipe tested, marked with grade, heat number, and standard before packing.
This process guarantees a smooth internal bore, high structural integrity, and exceptional corrosion resistance across all batches of Womic Steel’sof Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes
Womic Steel utilizes state-of-the-art manufacturing technology to ensure everyStainless Steel - of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipesmeets precise specifications and delivers excellent surface quality and performance.
1. Raw Material Selection:High-qualityof Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Stainless Steel Pipestainless steel strips/coils from certified suppliers (e.g., Baosteel, TISCO, POSCO).
2. Slitting & Uncoiling:The steel coil is slit to the required width and uncoiled for feeding into the forming mill.
3. Forming & Welding:The strip is progressively formed into a cylindrical shape and the edges are welded together using advanced TIG or Plasma welding techniques to create a solid weld seam.
4. Weld Seam Treatment:The external weld bead is removed to achieve a smooth surface, and the internal bead may be controlled or treated for bore cleanliness.
5. Solution Annealing:A full heat treatment process is applied to dissolve carbides, restore corrosion resistance, and relieve stresses from welding and forming.
6. Sizing & Calibration:The pipe is passed through a sizing mill to achieve the final precise outer diameter and roundness.
7. Straightening:The pipe is straightened to ensure optimal linearity.
8. Pickling & Passivation:Chemical treatment removes scale and impurities, while promoting the formation of a protective passive oxide layer on the surface, including the weld zone.
9. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):The weld seam is inspected using methods like Eddy Current or Ultrasonic Testing to ensure integrity and quality.
10. Final Inspection & Marking:Each pipe undergoes dimensional checks, visual inspection, and is marked with grade, heat number, and relevant standards before packaging.
This controlled process guarantees a consistent weld seam, excellent dimensional accuracy, and superior corrosion resistance for every batch of Womic Steel's of Duplex 2507 / UNS S32750 Steel Pipes.
