Condition:
All super duplex 2507 fittings are solution annealed at 1050–1120°C followed by immediate water quenching (delay
less than 30 seconds). This treatment restores the balanced ferrite-austenite
microstructure (40–60%
ferrite), dissolves intermetallic phases, and ensures maximum corrosion resistance.

1. What is the
difference between 2507 and 2205 fittings?
2507 has higher Cr, Mo, N, giving PRE ≥42 vs 35, and higher strength (≥550 MPa vs 450 MPa). It is better suited for extreme seawater and
sour service.
2. Can 2507
fittings be welded without PWHT?
Yes, but require strict procedure and matching filler (ER2594). The fittings
are supplied solution annealed; after welding, no PWHT is required if proper
procedures are followed.
3. Are 2507
fittings susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement?
Avoid cathodic overprotection; pickling must be carefully controlled. Womic
