Womic Stainless Steel Co., Ltd
Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments, seawater, and aggressive chemical media, thanks to 2–3% molybdenum content. The low carbon 316L version provides enhanced resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding.
High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Excellent load-bearing capacity with good ductility for structural applications, allowing for lighter frameworks without compromising strength.
Superior Weldability: 316L grade ensures low carbon content for superior weld performance, with reduced risk of intergranular corrosion in welded fabrications. Suitable for TIG, MIG, and arc welding.
Excellent Formability: Can be bent, cut, drilled, and fabricated to meet specific project requirements.
Precision Dimensional Tolerances: Tight tolerances on web height, flange width, thickness, and straightness ensure consistent quality for structural assemblies.
Smooth Surface Quality: Available in annealed and pickled finish (standard), polished, or brushed finishes for architectural and exposed applications.
Multiple Channel Types: U channels (standard channels), C channels, parallel flange channels, and tapered flange channels available.
Aesthetic Appearance: Bright silver finish provides excellent visual appeal for exposed structural elements in architectural applications.
International Certifications: Channels can be certified by ABS, BV, DNV, LR, GL, RINA, CCS, KR, and NK, and comply with NORSOK standards for offshore projects.

Both 316 and 316L stainless steel channels exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. The lower carbon content in 316L minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, providing enhanced resistance to intergranular corrosion compared to standard 316, especially in welded structural applications.

Heat Treatment Condition:
Both 316 and 316L stainless steel channels are normally supplied in the annealed
and pickled condition. Solution annealing at 1040–1080°C followed by
rapid cooling restores full corrosion resistance, relieves internal stresses
from rolling, and ensures optimal ductility for fabrication.
Delivery Condition:
Channels are normally supplied in annealed and pickled condition,
providing a clean, smooth surface and excellent corrosion resistance. Upon
request, polished or brushed finishes can be
provided for architectural applications.

1. What is the difference between U
channel and C channel?
U channel has tapered flanges (wider at the tip) typical of hot-rolled
sections. C channel has parallel flanges (equal thickness throughout), often
from cold-forming or precision hot-rolling. Both are available in 316/316L
stainless steel.
2. Can 316L stainless steel channels
be welded?
Yes, 316L has excellent weldability with low carbon content to prevent
intergranular corrosion. Standard welding procedures (TIG, MIG, arc) are
suitable.
3. What is the standard length for
stainless steel channels?
Standard length is 6 meters (20 feet). Custom lengths from 1m to 12m available
upon request.
4. Are 316L channels suitable for
marine environments?
Yes, 316L offers excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and is widely used
in marine and offshore applications. ABS/DNV/LR certifications available.
5. Can you supply channels with
custom hole drilling?
Yes. We offer custom fabrication including hole drilling, notching, cutting,
and welding per your specifications.
6. Do you provide material test
reports (MTR) and certification?
Yes, every shipment includes EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTR with chemical analysis and
mechanical properties. Third-party inspection available upon request.
