Womic Stainless Steel Co., Ltd
Good Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion in fresh water, mild chemical media, and atmospheric conditions. The 304L grade provides additional protection against intergranular corrosion after welding.
Excellent Formability: 304/304L stainless steel offers superior forming characteristics, making it ideal for bending, punching, drilling, and cutting operations.
Good Mechanical Strength: Good tensile and yield strength combined with excellent ductility for load-bearing structural applications.
Excellent Weldability: 304L grade ensures low carbon content for superior weld performance and easy fabrication, with reduced risk of intergranular corrosion.
Cost-Effective Solution: Lower alloy content (no molybdenum) compared to 316/316L makes 304/304L a more economical choice for applications where chloride-induced pitting is not a concern.
Surface Quality: Smooth surface finish available in mill finish, pickled, polished, or brushed for architectural and sanitary applications.
Aesthetic Appearance: Bright silver finish provides excellent visual appeal for exposed structural elements.
International Certifications: Structural angles can be certified by ABS, BV, DNV, LR, GL, RINA, CCS, KR, and NK, and comply with NORSOK and ASME standards.

Treatment Condition:
Both 304 and 304L stainless steel equal angles are normally supplied in
the annealed and pickled condition.
Solution annealing at 1010–1080°C followed by rapid cooling restores full
corrosion resistance, relieves internal stresses, and enhances ductility.
Delivery
Condition:
Angles are normally supplied in annealed and pickled condition, providing a clean,
smooth surface and good corrosion resistance. Upon request, bright annealed, polished, or brushed finishes can be
provided to meet specific architectural, sanitary, or aesthetic requirements.

Hot Rolling: Billets passed through roughing and finishing stands (continuous rolling mill) to form angle shape.
Cooling: Controlled cooling to prevent distortion and maintain dimensional accuracy.
Straightening: Roller straightening to ensure straightness tolerance within 2 mm per meter.
Solution Annealing (Optional): Heat treatment at 1010–1080°C for optimal corrosion resistance (typically for pickled finish).
Pickling & Passivation: Removal of oxides and creation of passive film for enhanced corrosion protection.
Cutting: Cut to standard 6-meter lengths (or custom lengths per order).
Inspection & Marking: Each bundle inspected, marked with grade, heat number, dimensions, and standard.

1. What is
the difference between 304 and 304L stainless steel equal angles?
The main difference is carbon content. 304L has lower carbon (≤0.03% vs
≤0.08%), which prevents carbide precipitation during welding and provides
better resistance to intergranular corrosion. For welded structural
applications, 304L is typically preferred.
2. Can 304
stainless steel equal angles be welded?
Yes, both 304 and 304L angles have excellent weldability. However, for
applications requiring post-weld corrosion resistance in the sensitization
temperature range (425-870°C), 304L is recommended.
3. Can
304/304L angles be used in seawater applications?
No. For seawater or high-chloride environments, 316/316L or duplex stainless
steel angles are recommended. 304/304L is not suitable for marine or
high-chloride service.
4. What is
the standard length for stainless steel angles?
Standard length is 6 meters (20 feet). Custom lengths from 1m to 12m available upon
request.
5. What is
the difference between equal angle and unequal angle?
Equal angle has both legs of the same length (e.g., 50x50mm). Unequal angle has
legs of different lengths (e.g., 75x50mm). Both are available from Womic Steel.
6. Do you
provide material test reports (MTR) and certification?
Yes, every shipment includes EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTR with chemical analysis and
mechanical properties. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, DNV, TUV) available
upon request.
7. Are
your angles suitable for food processing applications?
Yes, with appropriate surface finish (polished, brushed, or electropolished).
304L is widely used in food and dairy processing due to its good corrosion
resistance and cleanability.
